A study on the Evenness Improvement of Influent Flow rates Distributed to Parallel-arrayed Grit chambers using CFD simulation technique

Objectives : The objectives of this study are to assess the degree uniformity flow rate flowing into four grit chamber for actual waste water treatment and improve hydraulic structure existing distribution channel.Methods Mobile ultrasonic meter was used measure each chambers, CFD technique suggest several improvements enhancing evenness.Results Discussion From results measurement using flowmeter simulation, rates distributed through complicated open channels (four outlets) showed a severe unevenness. It revealed that passing outlets 1 4 at both right anf left ends difference more than 20% compared those 2 3 installed in center.Conclusion As result examining data level, rate, percentages it found case (the install orifice walls on sides) had most even effect. However, as comparing levels 6, installing make relatively higher head loss.
